Homemade Dog Treats: Two Easy Recipes

Make simple treats for your best friend.

Peanut butter oatmeal and Oatmeal Parsley treats are easy to make!

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Treats

Roll out the dough and cut with fun cookie cutters. I had a dog shaped playdough cutter that was especially fun. These treats are not actually baked, in the traditional sense. They are dried in the oven at a low temperature. 200F works pretty well. When the baking treats begin to take on some color, turn off the oven and leave the treats in the oven to dry. Be sure they are dry all the way through before storing.

The scraps of the dough may not stick back together, and you’ll have a crumbly mess. Not to worry! Press the crumbs into a container and dice. These work great for training treats.

Roll out the dough and cut into fun shapes.

Make a container for your treats using an upcycled container, paper and glue. See instructions here.
